Tuesdays Beginning April 15, 2008 Two Programs - One Night - One Goal The Atkinson Community Squares and The Atkinson XXTreme Squares. The club will dance from 8:00pm to 10:00pm at an Energetic Mainstream Level. What makes this program different is that each night there will be an hour of dancing open to the general public from 7-8pm.  Why do you ask? I'll tell you why... For years, organized square dancing has made it a policy to invite new dancers into the activity only a couple times a year. If someone is interested in square dancing and they don't make it into classes in September (or sometimes January) we tell them they have to wait until next year. Turning people away is bad business in the best of times. Turning people away from our activity as we see our numbers dwindle is TERRIBLE business. So, it is my intention to make square dancing available to the general public year round. I will keep the square dance community up to date on this programs success and encourage everyone to adopt a similar program in your area. Square Dancing has been the worlds best kept secret for TOO LONG. Help me to get the word out and welcome new members into our great activity!
